(It’s More Than You Think—And These Three Things Matter Most)
If you’re getting ready to buy a home, you might already be browsing listings online, scrolling through open houses, and wondering if you really need a real estate agent to “just show you houses.”
I get it. From the outside, it might look like a REALTOR® just opens doors, writes up offers, and gets paid when the deal closes.
But here’s the truth: a good agent does so much more than that. And when you’re making one of the biggest financial moves of your life, you deserve someone who’s all in—not someone who’s just along for the ride.
I’m Alyssa Pimentel, Team Lead at Team Pimentel with Compass, and I’ve walked hundreds of buyers through the process of buying smart, avoiding pitfalls, and actually enjoying the experience. After years of helping people make life-changing moves, I’ve narrowed it down to the three most important things a REALTOR® does for you during the homebuying process.
We Protect You From Costly Mistakes
Let’s be real: buying a house comes with risk. You're spending hundreds of thousands—sometimes millions—of dollars on something you can’t return. It’s not just about liking the kitchen or finding the right zip code. It’s about making sure the foundation is solid, the financing is sound, the contract protects you, and that you’re not walking into a long-term financial mess.
My job is to dig beneath the surface. I look at disclosures, property history, market comps, neighborhood trends, and inspection reports. I ask the hard questions. I spot red flags before they become your problem. From identifying hidden structural issues to negotiating fair repairs, I make sure you don’t end up stuck with a home that drains your bank account—or your peace of mind.
You might not see every conversation happening behind the scenes, but I’m constantly analyzing the risk factors in each step so you’re never blindsided. I don’t just want you to get the house—I want you to get the right house, without regret.

We Handle the Complexity (So You Don’t Have To)
Buying a home is not just an emotional process—it’s a technical one. There are contracts, deadlines, contingencies, disclosures, and legal documents that have to be executed with precision. If one piece slips through the cracks, the entire deal could fall apart—or cost you big.
From day one, I manage the moving parts. I coordinate with lenders, attorneys, inspectors, the seller’s agent, title companies, and more. I make sure inspections happen on time, that appraisal results are reviewed, that financing stays on track, and that nothing jeopardizes your closing.
Every transaction comes with surprises. A low appraisal. A confusing inspection report. A last-minute title issue. My job is to keep you calm, make sense of the chaos, and solve problems before they derail your deal. You’ll never be left wondering, “What’s happening?” or “What do I do next?”—because I’ll already be two steps ahead of it.

We Advocate Relentlessly for You
At the heart of it, my job is to be your advocate. Not just someone who helps you fill out paperwork, but someone who fights for your best interest—every step of the way.
That starts with the offer. In competitive markets, getting your offer accepted isn’t just about price—it’s about strategy, communication, and reputation. I know how to position your offer to stand out, without sacrificing protections you need. And when it comes time to negotiate—whether that’s on price, inspection items, credits, or closing timelines—I’m in your corner. Always.
But advocacy isn’t just about the tough moments. It’s also about listening to you. Getting to know your goals, your concerns, your values. Helping you buy a home that fits your life—not just your budget. That’s why I stay honest, direct, and available from our first conversation to well after you move in.

The Bottom Line?
You’re not just buying a home—you’re making a major investment, financially and emotionally. And you shouldn’t have to navigate that alone.
A great REALTOR® doesn’t just unlock doors.
We:
If you’re thinking about buying, I’d love to help you do it the smart way—with clarity, confidence, and a plan that works for you.
